Saturday, July 5: Dogs Deserve Better Chain Off 2008!!
Once again, I'll be chaining myself outside in the Arizona summer heat to demonstrate that dogs should not be chained outside all day long! I did this event last year and spent 16 hours chained in my front yard on the hottest day of the year, July 4th, in 122 degree heat!!! It was awful, but nothing compared to what the dogs endure day in and day out.
This year, I'll be joined by some other folks and we're going to be in the Steele Indian School Park from 5am until 9pm. Please drop by to give your support, make a donation, pick up literature and spend a little time talking. Treats and water will be appreciated, too!! You can also donate via this link. The money is used to help build fences for dogs who are chained so they can at least be off a chain as well as to provide medical care for dogs who've been neglected or abused. Wednesday, June 18th: Luncheon at the Nucleus Club at the Arizona Country Club

I had a wonderful meal with a bunch of fabulous democrats including Dan Saban who's running for Maricopa County Sheriff! Really a great group of people who were very happy to hear that someone was running against Jeff Flake in District 6. Mark Winkleman, Arizona State Land Commissioner, gave a very informative talk about how state lands are managed and how they benefit both community planning and our education system. Many thanks to the LD 19 folks for sending me to this terrific event.

Write-in Candidate Offers Support to Ballot Candidates
Richard Grayson, write-in candidate for AZ CD6, enthusiastically supports the ballot candidate(s) running against Jeff Flake. Read his blog regarding this here. You can also read about his research on Jeff Flake's record here. His blog is fairly biased in some respects and certainly not conventional, yet he has the facts right there and links to many sources other than "just his opinion". One particular article, Rumors that Rep. Jeff Flake is Noticing Our Blog, is particularly interesting reading as it clearly demonstrates why Rebecca is running for CD6! Read it here.
